Caitlynn Richardson is a science teacher on the Incredibles team at Chapel Hill 7th and 8th Grade Center.

“Technology was absolutely vital to science this year! Without the ability to do labs, my science class threatened to be very boring. However, we were lucky that the district was able to secure a Gizmos subscription from Explore Learning. This website allows students to do typical and atypical labs - all online! The worksheets that come with this software are easy to understand and all Google Doc integrated. The worksheets walked the students through labs that they otherwise wouldn't have gotten to do. Even now, back in school full time, we utilize this resource because it's so useful in exploring things like cells that are too small to see.

We also utilize Google Suite in this classroom! We use Google Docs and Google Slides for interactive worksheets, Chrome Canvas for coloring and drawing, and Google Classroom for all our assignments and notes.

We use a resource called Wakelet to help organize all of the resources we use in class. It's super helpful for students to be able to organize different information they have. It's kind of like Pinterest for science!”
