With visitor restrictions due to COVID-19, Wayne Township Preschool staff found new ways to reach out to families, build relationships, and support learning at home.
Monthly family nights have been an important aspect of building strong relationships with families while equipping them with at-home learning strategies. To continue hosting family nights, teachers took turns creating videos featuring family activities focusing around various standards outlined in Indiana’s early learning foundations. Along with the learning activities, teachers also explain how these activities support child development and learning. Featured family night videos include activities and parent supports such as counting items, measuring, shared reading, science experiments, fine motor skills, and sensory activities.
